The Twelve Days Of Christmas: Day 4

The next band we're featuring on AudioADD's Twelve Days of Christmas holds a special place in our hearts. They've made consistently great albums through their career and have never compromised. These Brits have found the formula for heart-winning tunes and don't seem to be slowing down soon. Coming in at number four on Rolling Stone's best bands of the decade are Coldplay.

It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since we saw this no-name band's boring music video for "Yellow" on MTV the first time. We kept thinking, 'No one sounds like this. This isn't going to last.' Here we are a decade later, and they've landed in the top five artists of the decade. Here's the video that started it all:

The Twelve Days Of Christmas: Day 5

It's no surprise to us at AudioADD that Radiohead landed the number five album of the decade with In Rainbows. If you weren't in tune with its release in October of 2007, here's a little recap:

It had been four years since the release of Hail to the Thief and there had been news of Radiohead working hard (and not working) in the studio four a couple of years. Then, out of nowhere, inrainbows.com popped up offering the album as a digital download - for whatever price you wanted to pay.

According to frontman Thom Yorke, every album preceding In Rainbows had been leaked, so they were preempting by leaking their own album. Despite their fans' ability to download the album for free if they wanted, the retail release that followed topped charts in both the UK and US.

The tour for In Rainbows was the best selling of Radiohead's quarter-century career, and the album went on to take home two Grammy awards. In case you didn't see the award show live, here's their epic performance of "15 Step" with the USC Marching Band:

The 12 Days Of Christmas: Day 7

Coming in at number seven on the list of Top Artists of the Decade is Bruce Springsteen. The Boss doesn't need an introduction, or even an explaination - so we'll leave you with this video:

The 12 Days Of Christmas: Day 11

On the 11th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me: Kings of Leon! Landing the #11 spot on Rolling Stone's list of top artists of the decade, these guys have finally been unleashed into the mainstream.

Kings of Leon started in Tennessee in 1999 as a southern-rock/blues quartet consisting of three brothers and their cousin. Over the years, they've incorporated more of an alternative sound and have achieved nine top-40 hits in the UK. With their latest album, Only By The Night, they've achieved major commercial success in the US.

While we've been following these guys for some time, it's always cool to go from watching a great band at a tiny venue like Houston's Meridian to tuning your television to their performance at Reading - one of the world's largest and most coveted festivals. Check out the video below:

Check back tomorrow for Day 10 as we countdown to Christmas.

Rock Your Red and Green Socks Off

Nothing gets me in the holiday spirit faster than a few Bing Crosby tracks playing alongside a burning fireplace - and certainly nothing drowns out Uncle Billy Bob's "when I was your age" stories like a little Trans Siberian Orchestra in your headphones.

Old or new, music is certainly part of what makes the holidays so special. Driving around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights and listening to holiday music, or even cruising through the busy shopping malls with the smooth-jazz renditions of holiday favorites.

Here at AudioADD, we want to know what you guys will be jamming at your house this year. While you're opening presents, lighting candles, and sipping your nogg-a-sake's, what sets the mood for you? Here are a few thnigs that I'll be playing at my place. Shout out in the comments!

"Carol of the Bells" - The Bird and the Bee
"What's This?" - Danny Elfman
"I Will Be Hating You For Christmas" - Everclear
"Do You Hear What I Hear" - Copeland
